The Grand Hotel Stella Maris Resort & Conventions is the first 5-star hotel in the Sun Network Express Hotels & Resorts. It is located on one of the best and most beautiful beaches of El Salvador, yet it is characterized as an urban resort, and is close to the International Airport. Round-trip flight shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel, also from the hotel to the airport for departure home.

Standard: sea view or resort view one double bed + one single bed (if needed); accommodates up to 3 people.

After breakfast, you will depart for the Bahia Beaches tour, visiting the Farol da Barra in Salvador coastline, driving along the beaches of Ondina, Rio Vermelho, Amaralina, Pituba, Jardim dos Namorados, Jardim de Alah, Chega Nego Beach, Boca do Rio, Piata Beach, Plakafor Beach, and Piata. We will make a stop to visit Lagoon. During this tour, we will go for a walk and a swim at the beach. We will return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Your evening is free for independent activities. We suggest enjoying the Bahia nightlife. You can watch a folklore show with performances of “Samba de roda” (local music and dancing), puxada de rede, maculelê, capoeira (an art form that combines martial arts, music, and dance), and Candomblé dancing with costumes. You will also be able to taste typical Bahia cuisine at dinner. After the show and dinner, we return to the hotel.

We suggest a visit to the Bahia History Center, where one may see the most precious examples of Brazilian architecture in Salvador. The tour begins with a visit to Porto da Barra, Ladeira da Barra, Victoria, Carlos Costa Museum, 2 de Julho Square, commonly called Campo Grande, Castro Alves theater, Pedro Fort, and Piedade Square. We will also visit the famous Castro Alves Square, where the carnival has its apex, and finally the historic center of Salvador (Pelourinho), considered by UNESCO, the most important collection of colonial architecture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. At Pelourinho, we will view the Cathedral Basilica, Francisco de Assis Church, Nossa Senhora do dos Pretos Church, and Ladeira do Carmo. We will view the sites, shop, and then return to the hotel at the end of the tour.

In addition, we suggest a visit to the Panoramic Bahia, where you can see the Portuguese influence in the city. This includes: passing through the Dyke, the Nova Soccer Stadium, reaching the (lower town), and through the tunnel. We will move downtown, from the Church to the train station, and finally reach the Church (a church famous for miracles), where we usually take some time for a walk around. On our way back, we see the beautiful view of Monte Fortress, located on the and the traditional neighborhoods of Boa. The next stop is at the Modelo Market, the largest craft center with the famous Elevator. After some time for shopping, we returned to the hotel in the late afternoon.

We suggest a tour to visit the Island, where we usually have a view of the Marcelo Fort, Alta, and. The view of the church is especially interesting. The tour continues through the Santos Bay, where you can see some islands from a distance. The next destination is the Island, where we have a dive in the ocean. After this, the tour continues heading to the Island, where the schooner docks. The Fortaleza and are not to be missed. We return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

We suggest you take a tour of the North Coast. Along the way, on Coco Road, we can enjoy the panoramic view of the villages. Towards the Praia do Forte, we stop to visit and shop by the Village, which hosts the “Sea Turtles Project” (This is a non-profit organization that protects sea turtles from extinction.) Then we visit the beautiful Beach and stop for diving. We return to the hotel in the late afternoon.

The beach is perfect for a refreshing swim and for tasting the delights of the local cuisine, such as shrimp and fish stew. We return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
